I’ve shown a couple of the test bee blocks that I’ve made recently and since they worked out well, I went ahead and put together the kits that will be given to the bee members. Some of these are ready WAY in advance, but I’m glad to have them out of the way.
The bow tie blocks are going to be made from an off white (Moda Snow…I think) and then bee members’ scraps.
The Converging Corners block kits include everything you would need to make two blocks, but I’m also asking the members to add some oranges and aquas from their stash if they have them and want to.
The book shelf block kits include the background fabric, shelf fabric, and selvages for the book titles. I’m asking the bee members to use their scraps for the “books.”
Here’s the test block that I made. I used the tutorial from Don’t Call Me Betsy to get started. I LOVE this block.
I love the selvage book titles, too. Aren’t they fun?!
Finally, I put together the kits for the chevron Dresden Plate blocks.
All of the fabric is there for the blocks so my bee mates won’t have to use any of their scraps. Because I wanted the chevrons fussy cut, I did those myself. These will be handed out in November and they are the first of all of these kits to get handed out. The others have to wait until 2014. I’m so happy to have all of that out of my way and ready to go when I need them.
