First, I had the best weekend ever and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. However, it’s going to take a day or so to get a post together. In the meantime, I received the charm squares from The Colorful Charm Square Swap I participated in on flickr.
There’s actually more than that, but I took out the ones I didn’t care for and gave them away to friends this weekend. Aren’t they pretty?
I have no idea what I’m going to do with them. I might hold onto them until I need a baby quilt.
I’m probably not going to do another swap like this. I gave it a try and while it was fun, it took a long time, communication is difficult, and it’s a lot of people to try to get to cooperate. Don’t get me wrong…the swap went well, but it’s not for me.
This is the second swap I’ve participated in, although the first wasn’t for fabric. I didn’t have a good experience with the first one, but I was willing to give this second one a try since it was something different. As I said, my experience wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. I’d rather just buy a charm pack.
With that said, I am involved in a local 10″ square swap and I’m keeping an open mind with that one because it’s different than the first two since it’s local. Also, we have a guild presentation coming up that will include tips for swaps and bees and I’m interested in hearing more.
