My last maxi skirt turned out so well that I had to make another. Of course, it had to be chevrons. The knit is Laguna knit by Robert Kaufman. I pre-washed it because Julie of Jaybird Quilts said hers shrunk after washing.
The skirt is super easy to make but matching up all of those chevrons took forever! I ended up on the floor laying out the fabric for an hour and 15 minutes. The skirt took 45 minutes to put together.
Isn’t it adorable? I need to cut off some of the length, but I was so excited to have it finished that I just left it. I don’t hem knits unless I have to…which is never.
I have some more knit and I think my next maxi might have a fold over top so it’s a little more casual than the wide elastic band.
