I know you’re not a night owl, but I’m up packing and preparing for our 4th quilting retreat. I’m so excited about our retreat that I doubt I will be able to sleep much tonight. It is 11:30 p.m., and I’m up washing and auditioning fabric for the projects I plan to work on this weekend. We’re leaving at 8:30 tomorrow morning, and we plan to drive straight to your house. See you soon!

I would like to know when you purchased this penguin flannel and did you get it at a JoAnn Fabrics in the USA?
I do not seem to be able to post the picture on this so if you send me an email I can post the picture of the fabric I am talking about. Thanks, Pam

Hi, Pam. I know the exact fabric you are talking about! Yes, I purchased the penguin flannel at Joann Fabrics in the US. It was quite awhile ago, so I’m not sure if it’s still available. I couldn’t find it on the website.

Lesley- I would like to send a “Boston Flag” to join with the KCMQ group since I live in an area with no other flag participants. Can you help me get my flag to Boston? Thanks! Kathy

Absolutely! The Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild is where the idea originated. You can ship your flag directly to them. The link below has their shipping info.

Ravelry is awesome. I’m not very good at reading crochet patterns yet, but I’ve been managing pretty well.

          Leslie,
I am working with the KCMQG quilt show committee and was wondering if you would loan your Fractal Radiance quilt to display in thebooth next June. We are searching for guild members who have made the quilt in different sizes to display in our Booth.

              Hi There,
Hope it’s ok to ask. I’m desperately searching to buy the Cascade quilt pattern by Susannah Kate, unfortunately her Etsy shop is no longer operating. As you mentioned the quilt in your blog, I was hoping you may know where else this pattern may be purchased. Failing that , would you be able to let me know how big each of the squares are ? I would probably be able to work out the placements etc from web photos. I would very much appreciate any information you are able to share on this .
              Kind Regards.
              Sonia

Hi, Sonia. Her Etsy shop is still available and so is the Cascade pattern.

Do you have the pattern or a kit for the bookshelf quilt?

Cherri, I do not have a pattern or kit. It was a bee quilt. I provided a large piece of the white background fabric, a strip of the gray fabric, some scraps in various lengths and widths, and some selvages to each participant along with how tall I wanted the block to finish at. I also included some links to tutorials around the web on how to create a bookshelf block. The members could make the blocks as wide as they wanted, but they had to stick with the width I provided. Then I took their blocks, made a few of my own to fill in the gaps, and had a top! It was a really fun project.

Wow, Lesley. Great blog. Maybe if I was more organized in keeping records of my quilt kits and materials, I would know where I left off. Thanks for all your help. Looking forward to stirring up my hobbies again

My daughter saw your aztec quilt and I am wondering if you could please tell me where you go the pattern, or what the name of the pattern may be. Thank you so much in advance.

Hi, Jeanne. I came up with the pattern myself. I think I wrote up some instructions, so I’ll look for those and send them to you. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
