I showed my coworker the dress my mom made for the American Girl dolls. Well, my coworker’s daughter has an American Girl doll and asked me to make a dress for it. And I did. My mom send me the pattern and instructions last week. She also sent me her leftover fabric so all I had to do was buy some extra skirt fabric.
That skirt is gigantic. Not in the waist, but in fullness. It’s HUGE! But it will look great.
I even managed to hand sew on the clasp. The skirt has a tiny hook and eye.
The top has velcro. I had to cut the velcro in half to make it small enough.
I had a little trouble sewing a couple of things. The waistband of the skirt wasn’t super fun. And the hemming on the shirt sucked, but I hate hemming in general. However, I’m still very very pleased with how they turned out. And my coworker said that her daughter was complaining that her doll didn’t have a Christmas dress. So I’m glad I can provide her doll with a Christmas dress.
