This is probably right at the top or near the top of favorite quilts I’ve ever made.
Ok…it’s not a completed quilt, but it’s close enough. Plus, that’s not surprising for me at my current rate. I seem to be really good at piecing tops. Quilting them…not so much. Ha.
Anyway, I LOVE THIS TOP! Most of the fabric is from Tula Pink’s Prince Charming line. Andrew bought a fat quarter bundle of it for me for Christmas one year. I have waited and waited to use it. The other fabrics are from my stash. I’m shocked that I had so many additional fabrics that worked with the line. I guess it just shows you that I really like turquoises and and yellows. And I really do like those two colors a lot.
I’m going to quilt this top myself. Tammy of Marmalade Fabrics gave me the idea of how to quilt it while at a sewing retreat over Memorial Day weekend. I’ll probably stitch in the ditch and then stitch 1/4″ from each seam. Or maybe just a 1/4″ from each seam. Either way, I want the herringbone pattern to show through on the back. I’m thinking a solid back is going to be the way to go to show off the quilting the most. I’m excited just thinking about it though!
