Ta da!
This quilt has been completed for a while, but I was waiting to reveal until the large KCMQG reveal at the September meeting.
Our challenge was to create a quilt (I think it had to be at least 40″ x 40″) using the Mirror Ball Dots fabric as the most prominent fabric in the quilt. Also, we had to use the Kansas City Country Club Plaza as our inspiration.
My inspiration came from some architecture at the top of some buildings. Of course, it’s chevrons. 🙂
I used a tutorial from Cut to Pieces to begin and then added some modifications to make it end up like I wanted.
I quilted this myself and tried to keep it simple to highlight the fabric and the pattern.
I had a couple of extra chevron pieces left over so I made some pillows to match.
I’m holding on to this quilt and I’m hoping to someday be able to gift it to somebody who has a baby boy. Don’t you think this would make a nice quilt for a boy?

That is such a georgous quilt! And I love seeing where the inspiration came from. If they had a Project Runway version for quilts, this would win!
