The Sew Together Bag from Sew Demented has taken off! Everybody is making it, especially KCMQG members. Krista, I think, has made three. Jan has made three. Jaime has made one. Shea has made one. And now I have made one!
This all started because of Penny from sewtakeahike. She visited the guild and had one that she had made with her. After that, we all needed one.
I used some of my coveted Washi by Rashida Coleman Hale for the outside fabric. Then I pulled some fun matching fabric from my stash for the rest.
This bag is sooooo cute!!! I love the pockets, the zippers, the shape, and how it comes together.
There’s so much room! I’m using this for my EPP stuff, but I definitely need one for my general sewing notions and tools and then another for my makeup. This would be perfect for travelling.
I’m glad that I made this while sewing with Jaime and had hers to peek at. It helped me understand some of the instructions. I probably would have figured it out without the additional help, but I’m glad I didn’t have to.
Again, the one thing I don’t like about this bag is that’s it’s finished using binding. WHY!?!??!?!?!?!?!?! If I could figure out another way to do this, I would, but it’s a little harder on this bag than others. I definitely recommend doing the binding in reverse of what the pattern says. I think there’s a note about it below the binding step. By reverse, I mean sewing the binding on the outside and turning it to the inside and having the caught edge toward the inside of the bag.
I definitely recommend this bag and I can’t wait to make another!
