I already have enough projects, but I figured I would add a few more to the list.
One of my friends from the KC Modern Quilt Guild decided to host a quilt along. We get together one Sunday every month and work on one of the blocks. The quilt pattern is “The Local Quilt” by Carolyn Friendlander. It’s all paper piecing.
I’m making mine using stuff from my stash and scraps, except for the sky and ground. I found the sky and ground prints I’m going to use at Bon Bon. The blue stripe is a linen and the orange and pink wonky stripe is by Tula Pink. We met last weekend for the first time. I didn’t get a block made, but I did get a lot of planning done. And this quilt requires a lot of planning.
My mom brought me these Thirties prints. She made a miniature quilt for a silent auction using them. She found the pattern in some English Paper Piecing book. It’s a Dresden plate in the center with partial Dresden plate’s in the corners. I’m going to copy her and make one, too. She gave me her templates, too.
And besides those two quilts, I’m also planning on making some long tank tops using some voile I recently purchased. I’m hoping they will be great for summer. I also would like to make a flowy long sleeved top using the voile, but we’ll see if I can find a good pattern.
[Picture of Yarn]
My mom and I visited a yarn shop this weekend. We want to make a cowl like the one Debbie made at our last retreat. I bought yarn and I got the first row crocheted…and now I’m stuck. I watched Mom for quite awhile when she started hers, but now I can’t figure it out. I may wait until I see her again to continue on, which is OK since I have so much else to work on.
So despite everything else I plan to do this year, I’ve added these to the list. We’ll see how much actually gets accomplished…
