New Shop + GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have some exiting news!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you haven’t figured it out already, I’m having my first giveaway today!!!!!

And it’s all thanks to Mountain Lake Quilting. Janiece, one of the owners, approached me at one of the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild meetings and asked if I could help promote her new shop. Mountain Lake Quilting is a fairly new shop and since I am always trying to support local shops, I was excited to help her out. They will also be sponsoring the November KCMQG meeting later this year!

Even though the shop is pretty new, there are some great fabrics available. Tula Pink’s new line, Fox Field, is listed! Not sure if you know, but Tula Pink’s home is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Kansas City. Another new line that’s available is Drift by Angela Walters. Angela is also here in the KC area. I love that Janiece and her partner are carrying lines from people close to home! Also, there are some great Modern Solids and you all know how much I like solids.

Besides fabric, there’s a great selection of modern patterns including a number of chevron and chevron-like patterns. I encourage everyone to make a chevron or chevron-like quilt. And if you use chevron fabric, that’s even better. You can never have too many chevrons in my opinion.

Finally, I’ve never had a quilt quilted by Janiece, but I’ve seen some of her work in magazines and on Facebook and it is stunning!

Before I get to the giveaway, Mountain Lake Quilting is offering something to all of my readers! Through May 31, 2014, you get 10% off using the code “CLOSET10.” There’s a image on my sidebar to remind you of this great deal!

Another bonus – Mountain Lake Quilting is doing their own giveaway. If you register and you are the 100th, 200th, 300th, etc. person to register, you’ll get something fun! So make sure you register!

Now the giveaway…Mountain Lake Quilting is giving away a $25 gift certificate to their shop!

To enter, leave a comment on this post and tell me what you would buy from Mountain Lake Quilting if you won the $25 gift certificate. Make sure you are either signed into a WordPress account OR leave your email address so I can get in touch with you if you win. If you leave your email address, make sure to do it in this format “llatham0306 at gmail dot com” so spammers can’t come after you.

The giveaway will close on Friday, April 4th, and I will announce the winner on Monday, April 7th! Another reason to make sure I can get your email address is that Mountain Lake Quilting will email the gift certificate directly to you.

Good luck!

    YAY YOU!!! 😀 Congrats!

    Fox Field… I think.

  2. Jessica’s avatar

I’ve had my eye on some of Angela’s drift, so probably I’d get a bit of that. 🙂

  3. Kim’s avatar

I would buy some really bright, fun patterned fabric. The louder, the better! So exciting that a new store is opening – always good to have more places to shop!

  4. Cec’s avatar

They have a pattern called, “Zig Zag Gets Me Everytime” I think it would look awesome in 1930s and white tone on tone.

  5. Joni’s avatar

Well this is just way too exciting!!! I think I would go with the Tula pink or Angela Walters. I’m a fan of both. And I hope I am the very first winner, so pick me!! Cannot wait to see you this weekend at the retreat.

How exciting! I’m pretty sure it will me that wins!

As much as I love fabric, and always could add to my stash, I would love a Dresden ruler. If they don’t have one, a 9 degree ruler is on my list.

Well this is exciting. I have had a quilt that was quilted by Janice and yes it is fabulous. I sleep under it each night! I would go for the Drift by Angela Walters. I have been wanting to get my hands on some. A little pale for my usual pick but I think it is beautiful.

How cool!!! I need brights. Thank you Lesley and Mountain Lake Quilting.

I like the Richlin line. Great colors!

  11. Marilyn’s avatar

Well, isn’t this nice!! Lots of beautiful solids to choose from, but Lotta Jansdotter grabs me everytime! Thanks!

I would ask Lesley to make me turquoise and orange things!
