I did not blog at ALL last week. I’m sorry. Blame goes to Operation Launchpad. See previous post. So I have a lot to share and the easiest way is through pictures with short captions.
This is my great Shop Fauna teammate, Nadine. She wore this AWESOME sweater one day. Her sister embroidered the cute pattern ont he left shoulder.
I will be doing this with one of my sweaters. I LOVE it.
I recently went home to help my family move my grandmother to a smaller house that is closer to my aunt and mother. I visited the local fabric shop Sew Country that I’ve talked about before. They had these two fat quarters in the sale bin. So I snatched them up.
This panel was also in the sale bin. I don’t like the Valentine’s Day theme, but I LOVE the tree. I’ll see what I can do with it someday.
these fabrics are odd sizes and were in the sale bin. All are bigger than a fat quarter. The middle one is grayish/tannish. I can’t really tell what the color is, but it will be a great blender. I LOVE the pink one.
I’m making a table runner for Andrew’s mother. I was going to order fabric from the Kansas Troubles Cattails & Clover line, but Andrew said these matched her curtains better. The line is Late Bloomers by Sandy Gervais. I love the big print and the little tan print.
I love shopping at local fabric shops. There is nothing like touching fabric before you buy it. I LOVE the experience. I did buy some fabric online recently though from an Etsy seller.
All are Moda Bella Solids except the second from the left. It’s a shot cotton. I needed the black to finish the binding on the crossword quilts. The others are going to be used for handbags for Christmas presents and to help build my solid stash…which currently does not exist.
Isn’t it beautiful! I’m in love with shot cottons. How addicting! That orange that runs through there is absolutely gorgeous.
I posted my mother’s finished pink appliqued C pillow from the quilting retreat weekend. She just finished the E appliqued lavender pillow. Aren’t they sooo cute? There are matching throws. They are for my mom’s bosses daughters.
Last week was the KC Modern Quilt Guild December meeting. We had a mini charm pack swap. These are all of the squares I received.
We also received our potholders from when we swapped with the Portland Modern Quilt Guild. I LOVE the colors. Gray and purples…I could use those every day.
Wow! That is all of the pictures. Crazy, huh? One last story…
While I was home for the move, I attended my mother’s quilt guild. The quilts were very different from what I see at the KC Modern Quilt Guild, but they were still amazing and beautiful. The people were still absolutely AMAZING and I had a blast. All types of quilters can get along because it’s all about the craft, even if the styles are different. There’s so much talent across this country and I wish I could get a sampling of it all. Maybe someday…
