The Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild’s show “Quilts on the Quad” was AWESOME for numerous reasons. 1. Quilters are amazing and I LOVE talking to other people who share my passion for sewing. 2. Quilts are beautiful and look fabulous hanging between trees and blowing in the breeze. 3. It was a gorgeous day. KCMQG could not have chosen a better day. 4. It was Homecoming weekend at UMKC and there were food trucks. And one sold cupcakes and hot chocolate. Peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes. Fabulous cupcakes. 5. I got soooo many comments about my Mario quilt. It was a hit and definitely an ego booster. 6. Somebody made an owl quilt! I have a new thing for owls, thanks to my friend Mia who wore an owl necklace to work that I immediately fell in love with.
I should have taken more pictures, but I was too busy chatting and had to run to make it to class on time.
Obviously I could go on, but I’ll stop for now. I really really enjoyed the quilt show and I wished I could have stayed for the entire time to volunteer, but I had to go to class. Speaking of class…it’s killing me. I enjoy learning and I enjoy programming, but it is sucking time away from quilting and cleaning. However, I managed to finish the potholder for the KCMQG pot holder swap with the Portland Modern Quilt Guild. I also made a camera strap for Mia, who is a very talented photographer. She also makes amazing videos. Visit her blog, mkqi’s random musings, to see the camera strap. I’d put one of my pictures up, but…well…it sucks compared to the ones on her blog. 🙂
