It seems like forever ago that I started this quilt. The top went together in a quick afternoon, but then I pin basted and began straight line quilting.
That was a massive disaster. So I unpicked A TON of quilting and then spray basted and started again. I had much better luck the second time, but straight line quilting takes FOREVER!
I started quilting it at home. Then I took it to my mom’s retreat. Then I quilted some more at home. And finally, I took it to the KCMQG day retreat and was able to finish the quilting. The binding was all ready to go and went on quickly. I hand sewed it in less than two days.
I love the look of the straight line quilting, but I’m not keen on trying it again soon.
It’s so dense that you can actually see the outline of the star on the back. Also, I used purple thread for the star points and white thread for the chevron areas.
Obviously, this is made from my favorite fabric line, Simply Color by V & Co for Moda.
I have another quilt that’s made from this line that’s just waiting to be quilted.
I also have a bundle of Simply Style that I’m waiting to cut into. I already have the quilt idea.
