The Local Quilt: House #6

I’ve re-determined that I really like paper piecing. It’s so precise.

Despite the fact that I love paper piecing, this block gave me a couple of headaches at the very end.

I’m not sure what’s going on with that top right corner. I’ll have to fix it.

Those houses were fabulous to put together. It was a lot of fun. I even enjoyed putting together the tree. I didn’t like putting it all together. First, the tree has a lot of seams and it’s very bulky. I managed through that OK, but when you start putting all of the large pieces together, it gets a little difficult. The strips in between everything are just strips. They don’t have the paper to stabilize them. If I did this again, I would take the time to baste paper to them to stabilize them to match the rest of the pieces. Overall, I’m very happy with it…except for that damn top right corner.

I love how the stripes on the fabric are going all different ways. It definitely add interest.

I like this pattern, too, but the tree does look like a pain to piece. That tree would be reason enough for me to avoid it. You did a great job piecing this block.

I love the shoes. Omg. You and I both love wedges. They look especially nice with the orange dress
