Modern quilters, if you have not been able to make it to this shop, you should plan an trip to Omaha and stop by. They label themselves the “Kaffe Fasset-Amy Butler Contemporary Fabric Quilt Shop.” And they live up to the name. You walk in and are surrounded by color, bold prints, and polka dots. I was in heaven. They have a beautiful solid collection that even includes some of the Cotton Couture solids from Michael Miller. I also spotted one bolt of the Radiance solids by Robert Kaufman. They have a large selection of batiks, too. However, I was mostly interested in the sale section. HOLY MOLY! They had A LOT of fabric on sale…and it was fabric I actually wanted. I could’ve bought yardage from at least 10 bolts, but I held myself back and purchased these two.
I’m so in love with those prints. I see a lot of dresses in my future. And these were only six dollars a yard! I was a happy girl coming out of that shop.
They also have long arm machines. The only disappointment was their voile selection. They had one voile, but the woman I talked to made it seem like they had had more. I hope so. I’m definitely planning on visiting again when I’m in Omaha again.
