I have like 1,000 things going on right now. I should not be starting new projects, but I’m going to anyway.
I’ve been wanting some of the Michael Miller neon fabrics since I first saw them. I’m totally in love with them. Luckily, Andrew and I just redid our second bedroom/TV room and neon works perfectly with the decor. I’m making couch pillows and a wall quilt.
The wall quilt is going to be a Supersize Shoo-Fly. I added some grey in there for contrast. These blocks are going to be huge, so I’m only make four of them. I’m hoping to heavily quilt with straight lines, but that hasn’t gone so well for me, so we’ll see.
Those are for the pillows. The green and cream are Robert Kaufman’s Quilter’s Linen. I also really like those. I’m thinking half square triangles and then piping. It’s going to be an adventure. I also want to put zipper backs on them for a really professional finish.
There’s the Quilter’s Linen up close. I LOVE the subtle linen print with the softness of cotton.
Just an FYI: The Michael Miller solid neons are NOT soft. They are very stiff and feel like the worst fabric ever. I am a little disappointed. I’m going to wash them to see if there’s any improvement. However, the polka dots feel nice.
