I got some of my wonky cross bee blocks back! There are still a few out there, but I’ve heard from everybody, so it’s just a matter of time before I have all of them. 🙂
Denise gave me these. See how wonderfully the aqua shot cotton goes with it? I am still so amazing at what a great pick that shot cotton was. Have I told you how much I love polka dots? It’s a lot. I don’t love them quite as much as chevrons, but I still love them. And I love that more neutral color palette.
Karen made these. I’m so glad somebody used a batik! I don’t own ANY batiks, so this is perfect because I never could’ve found something like this in my stash or scraps. And that batik is so beautiful.
These are from Marilyn. I’m pretty sure the stripe is a shot cotton, too, and that’s super cool. I own some of the patterned shot cottons, but I haven’t done anything with them yet. And I love the lighter print. I tend to gravitate toward more brighter tones, so I’m really glad she included a lighter print.
Debbie sent me this. The brightness is so me. The geometric print…also me. With so many colors in that print, how could anything not match it? This block just looks like a party. It looks like fun.
These two are made my Mary Kay. How beautiful is that dark blue? It reminds me of the ocean. I stared at that fabric for like a good minute when I got home after receiving the blocks. And that’s impressive for me because I don’t take time to just look at things…especially when I’m trying to get ready for bed. I really like the blues.
Holy crap. Caitlin was busy. I think she made these using two packets…one was for her friend Valerie. Maybe Valerie made them and gave them to Caitlin. I’m not sure. Either way…so fabulous! I was very glad to see these colors because I really hadn’t gotten any or many of them yet. They are perfect. I’m super in love with the yellow and the bottom pink. Those prints are right up my alley.
Douglas is so thoughtful! He actually looked at the blocks I posted earlier and used colors that I didn’t have yet. And how freakin cool are those prints? I hardly ever use red. I don’t really like it as a color. But I’m super glad he used it because otherwise the quilt wouldn’t have any red in it. Plus the blue in that print works so well with the aqua shot cotton.
Did I mention I like polka dots? Sharon hit the nail on the head with these blocks. So perfect. And even more perfect because I’m not a big brown fan. So my stash barely has any brown. And this quilt wouldn’t be very scrappy if it didn’t have every color. And I really like this brown. A lot.
Thank you so much everybody for making me these blocks! They are all sooo perfect and gorgeous and wonderful. I can’t wait to put a quilt together. And this isn’t all of them! I’m going to be getting more! It’s probably good that I have to wait for more because otherwise I would want to put this quilt together right away and I really need to work on other stuff. 🙂

Wow, that is going to be such a cool quilt. It’ll be cohesive and have like a thousand colors and patterns at the same time. How big it is going to end up being? You’re getting lots of great blocks!

My block doesn’t look as good as your examples. Sending it anyway. Fun to do! It was a perfect exercise in creating a nontraditional block since I don’t usually do free form very well. I like traditional blocks, as you know, but this was such fun!
